Nissan's newest crossover, the 2011 Juke officially unveiled!
Nissan's newest crossover, the Juke has been officially unveiled before its public unveiling next month at the Geneva Motor Show.
Nissan describes the Juke as being part SUV and part sports car. It's design is based on the Qazana concept. The Juke was created at Nissan Design Europe (NDE) and refined at Nissan's Design Center (NDC) in Japan.
"It takes the best elements of an SUV and sports car and combines them," says Pierre Loing, Vice President, Product Planning, Nissan Europe. "It's roomy yet compact, robust yet dynamic and practical yet playful. These are qualities that seem to contradict each other, yet come together in Juke to create something that's genuinely unique."
The small crossover is available with either front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive. In Europe there will be a choice of three engines: a 1.6L Direct Injection Gasoline turbocharged engine with 187-hp, a 113-hp 1.6-liter and a 110-hp 1.5L dCi commonrail diesel.
It's not known what will power the US version. The US-spec Juke is going to be unveiled at the New York Auto Show in April.

Nissan is going to unveil the Juke Crossover at Geneva Motor Show in March 2010
Last year Nissan unveiled the interesting Qazana concept at the Geneva Motor Show and now the automaker has released the first teaser image of the Juke Crossover, which has the same basic form of last year's concept. Nissan is going to unveil the Juke crossover at this year's Geneva Motor Show in March, with sales starting in October. The Juke will fit between the Note compact family car and the Qashqai crossover in Nissan's lineup. It will be manufactured alongside the Qashqai, Qashqai+2 and Note at Nissan's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Sunderland, Great Britain. It's unlikely that the Juke will be offered in the US.
